What is the difference between TPU elastic band and rubber elastic?
TPU elastic band is 100% latex-free, transparent, and hypoallergenic — making it safe for users with latex allergies. It also offers superior elastic recovery (95%+ after 100 washes vs. 70-80% for rubber), better resistance to sweat/oils/UV/chlorine, and is fully recyclable. Rubber elastic is typically opaque, contains natural latex proteins, and degrades faster with washing and exposure. TPU elastic is the modern, sustainable alternative.
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for TPU elastic band?
Our standard MOQ is 5,000 linear meters per specification for standard widths (1-10 mm) and 2,000 linear meters for wider bands (10-50 mm). For new product development, we offer low-volume trial runs from 500 meters. This flexibility allows you to validate the elastic in your production process before committing to larger volumes.
How do you ensure consistent elasticity across production runs?
We perform shore hardness testing on every resin batch, measure elongation and recovery on a minimum of 5 samples per production run, and conduct wash durability testing (100 cycles at 40°C) on batch samples. AQL-based sampling inspection per ISO 2859 is performed before shipment, with full batch-to-batch traceability from raw TPU resin through to finished elastic rolls.
Can you produce ultra-narrow elastic for face mask ear loops?
Yes. Our precision extrusion lines can produce elastic as narrow as 1 mm in flat band form and 1.5 mm in round cord form, with +/-0.1 mm tolerance. We have extensive experience producing ear loop elastic for face masks, including soft-grade formulations (85A shore) for extended-wear comfort. Custom cross-sections (round, flat, oval) are available.
What is the difference between polyester TPU and polyether TPU elastic?
Polyester TPU offers higher mechanical strength, better adhesion to fabrics, and is more cost-effective for general apparel, underwear, and everyday garments.
